2025 Windmill League (2nd - Highschool)

The 8u- Highschool Columbus Softball program is open to all area girls with an interest in softball! Teams will be formed early April, start practicing at the coaches discretion, generally late April through May, and start playing weekly games in the Windmill League tentatively the week of Memorial Day. We look forward to seeing you on the diamonds this summer!

Windmill League Info:
  •  Age: Girls currently in 2nd grade through 11th grade Placement based on birthday as of Sept 1, 2025
  • -8U – Wednesdays (single games- about hour); Practices typically on Monday
  • - 10U – Mondays (single games through school year; double headers during summer); Practices typically on Wednesdays
  • - 12U – Tuesdays (double headers); Practices typically on Thursdays
  • - 14U – Thursdays (double headers); Practices typically on Tuesdays
  • - HS – Wednesdays (single 7 inn headers ); Practices TBD


PLAYER FEES & PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS*If your family is facing financial hardship, please reach out to [email protected] for assistance
  1. $125 participation fee
  2. Fees include USA insurance, ump fees, Windmill League fees, field maintenance fees, paid entry for the Windmill Travel League end-of-year tournament, and tournament t-shirt
  3. $50 refundable concessions fee
  4. This fee will be collected during registration, and refunded once a concession shift is completed (one per family)
  5. A $20 late fee will be applied if registration is received after March 15, 2025

JERSEYS
Jerseys are not included in the price of registration and can be purchased at the cost of $40. Consider sizing up your jersey so it can be used for more than one season.

  • Softball glove
  • Face Shield
  • Black Softball Pants
  • Red Socks
  • Red belt
  • Cleats- not mandatory but recommended
  • ASA Batting helmet with face shield- Helmets are provided but players are encouraged to have their own
  • Bat- are provided but players are encourage to bring own
  • Water bottle

More information about the program:
  • Coach's meeting: CSA will be holding informational coaches meeting beginning of April. Coaches will be contacted directly by CSA
  • Parent meeting: CSA will be holding informational parent meeting Mid-April, watch for details via CSA email and CSA Facebook page
  •  Practices: Watch for emails from CSA or the CSA Facebook Page for early practice opportunities
  • Pre-season:
  • Indoor practices at Columbus schools; Open gyms directed by the Columbus Highschool Coaching staff for 2nd year 10u and up.
  • Pitching, Catching and Hitting clinics (extra cost) coordinated by CSA
  • In-season:
  • Practices will follow the Windmill schedule, and will start at the coach's discretion, generally sometime in May
  •  End-of-Year Tournament: First weekend of August 2025, Watertown, WI

VOLUNTEER & FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT
The CSA is a volunteer-run organization and relies on the help of parents to operate. Concession sign ups will be available to fulfil your 1 shift obligation when the High School Softball season starts and run through the entirety of the Windmill softball season. Each family will also be responsible to sell a set number of raffle tickets; more information to come at the parent meeting.

ALL PLAYERS WELCOME
The Columbus Softball Association, Inc. (CSA) welcomes all girls to play, even if they are not Columbus residents or do not attend Columbus schools! Player placement will be based on ability. After April 1, 2025, placement is contingent upon team availability.

10U, 12U & 14U CSA Softball Tournament
CSA is working on hosting one day round robin tournament for ages 10U, 12U, and 14U. In order to make this happen, we need volunteers! Let us know by submitting your response if you are interested in CSA hosting a home tournament this year.

Infield-only League: Machine Pitch
Girls or boys currently in Pre-K through 1st grade (based on player’s skill-set)
Games: Saturday mornings and possibly some Friday nights starting week of May 20, 2025
Fee: $50 per player (includes t-shirt)
Practices: TBD
